Hello! My name is Grace Fritzke and I am the 21st CCLC Site Coordinator at Walla Walla High School. My goal for WaHi’s program is for it to be a place where students try new things, build friendships, and become more engaged in their school community. I had a blast in high school, dancing and working on dark room photography and ceramics after school, and the friendships I made stuck with me, too. It’s my hope that students who attend WaHi’s after-school program feel the same sense of connectedness and excitement. Our offerings change and grow depending on students’ interest, so feel free to email or call me with questions or suggestions.

GET CREATIVE

Thinking outside the box expands your world and stretches your brain! Students can make wearable art, from patches to pendants and dyed clothing, learn about nature journaling by going on a hike with an artist, take classes in digital drawing , or even do crafts that are a throwback to elementary school. Finger painting, anyone?

TELL A STORY

Students can produce and record their own music or podcasts in an audio production course taught by local artists, explore their own thoughts in a Tranquil Tuesday journaling sesh with a cup of tea, or dive into a Dungeons and Dragons storyline with the help of an experienced Dungeon Master. What story do you want to be told?

LET’S MOVE

Students take advantage of the end of Zoom School by going hiking, doing Zumba or Pilates, playing ultimate frisbee or Spikeball, or attending a Popping street dance class with a professional dancer. Sweating encouraged, experience never needed.

ESPORTS

Students play video games together every week, from Super Smash Bros and Fortnite to Rocket League and Among Us. They practice teamwork and sportsmanship while having a blast with new and old friends. If you are interested in coming to play, or in participating in local tournaments with other Walla Walla schools, email Grace Fritzke at gfritzke@wwps.org.
